“How I Found Love in College – An Adar Story”
THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you already know a little about me—I’m the elder daughter of my family, studying in Chennai. I’m also the first graduate in my home, and life as a hosteller has been full of challenges, lessons, and small victories.
But today’s story isn’t just about me. It’s about the moment when everything in my life quietly began to change. It started in the most unexpected way—when I met him for the very first time in my college. Back then, he was just a stranger, blending into the crowd, with no clue that he was about to become the most important chapter of my life.
ABOUT HIM:-
He was the perfect example of an introvert. Having studied in a boys’ school all his life, he had never really learned how to talk with girls. Conversations that felt casual to many of us were, for him, a little world of hesitation and silence.
At first, he seemed so distant—quiet, reserved, and lost in his own little bubble. But maybe that’s what made him stand out to me. While others were busy showing off or trying to grab attention, he carried an innocence that spoke louder than words.
THE FIRST MEET:-
It wasn’t me who first spoke to him—it was actually my friend. They became friends before I even had a proper conversation with him. One day, she introduced me, and that’s when I finally said “hi” to him for the very first time.
He looked at me, a little shy, and replied with a simple “hi.” From then on, whenever I crossed paths with him, he never failed to greet me. But it wasn’t just a normal hello. There was something different about it—an innocent smile, a warmth in his eyes, and a softness in his voice. He said “hi” to everyone, but for me… there was something unexplainably special in that small word. At that time, I didn’t realize it, but those little greetings were slowly carving their place in my heart.
He was in the same class as me, so I would often see him around. One ordinary day, while we were chatting, my friend randomly asked me, “Which guy do you like in our class?”
Without even thinking twice, only one name came to my mind—his. It wasn’t something I had planned, it just slipped into my heart naturally. I didn’t even tell her at that time, but deep inside, I knew that he was already special to me in a way I couldn’t explain.
Sometimes, love doesn’t arrive with fireworks or grand gestures—it starts quietly, in small moments, in thoughts we don’t even say out loud. For me, it started with that innocent question and the one face that instantly appeared in my mind—his.
THE FIRST CHAT:-
Later, I came to know that he had spoken to our mutual friend—the same one who introduced us. In his own shy way, he had told her that he had an interest in me. He never said it directly, but she understood and hinted it to me. Still, he never had the courage to convey it himself.
One day, I casually asked my friend for his number, just to get some notes for studying. With that small excuse, I finally texted him “hi.” That was the beginning of a new chapter. At first, it was all about sharing notes and clearing doubts. But slowly, those conversations grew into something more.
What started as simple chats about studies turned into endless talks about everything and nothing at the same time. We didn’t even realize how time passed when we spoke—manikanakka pesuvom. That innocent friendship carried an unspoken love within it, a quiet connection that neither of us had fully admitted yet, but both of us could feel deeply.
The Call That Touched My Heart:-
I never had even the slightest doubt that he was in love with me, but still, he left me so many little clues. For example, when I once asked him to suggest a good short film, he recommended Introvert Kadhal. And in his conversations, he would always say “us” instead of “me”. Looking back, maybe he was slowly trying to express his feelings, but I never guessed it at the time.
Then came a day I’ll never forget. Chennai was hit by a heavy cyclone. There was no electricity, no network, and no calls or messages for two whole days. Everything felt disconnected. But once things became a little normal, I suddenly received multiple missed calls from him.
And then, from a random number, I got a call. To my surprise, it was him. With his soft, innocent voice, he said his phone had been without charge for two days, and so he had borrowed his mother’s phone to call me. The very first thing he asked was not about himself but about me—if everything was okay in my hostel, if I was safe, if I was fine.
I couldn’t stop smiling, but at the same time, my heart became heavy with emotions. I asked him how he even knew my number by heart. His reply melted me completely: “I already memorized your number.”
That was the moment I fell in love with him—deeply, unshakably. I didn’t express it out loud, but inside, I knew. His care, his innocence, and his silent way of loving made me feel so happy, so special, and truly deserving of that kind of love.
That was the exact moment I truly fell for him. An Adar love quietly started blooming in my own heart. From then on, he was no longer just a classmate, no longer just a friend—he became my emotion, my safe place, my reason to smile.
Sometimes love doesn’t arrive with big confessions or grand gestures. Sometimes, it begins in silence, in care, in small acts that touch the soul. For me, it began with a phone call during a cyclone… and from that day, an Adar love became the most beautiful part of my life.
WE FELL IN LOVE🥺:-
After four months of friendship, one random day changed everything. I was on my way home in the bus, talking to him for hours as we always did. Suddenly, he said something that made my heart skip a beat: “I want to talk to you more…”
Curious and a little impatient, I urged him, “Tell me, tell me!” But he didn’t say a word. Instead, he smiled and said softly, “I’ll tell you in front of you.” I insisted, and after a long, suspenseful conversation, a message popped up on my phone. My heart nearly stopped—it read: “I love you, pattu”. And then… he deleted it.
I had seen it. Tears of joy ran down my face, my heart overflowing with happiness and disbelief. Without thinking, I typed back exactly what I felt in that moment: “I love youu more thangoo!” 💖
Words could never fully capture the way my heart felt—so full, so emotional, so alive. That unforgettable day—06/12/2023—is forever etched in my heart. It was the day I realized that all those little hints, all the innocent smiles, all the care he had shown me were not just friendship—they were love. From that day on, he wasn’t just my friend; he became my emotion, my happiness, my world. That was the beginning of our beautiful Adar love, a love so innocent, pure, and deep that it changed my life forever.

After sending him my reply, I called him. He attended the call, and at that very moment, something in his voice changed—it carried a depth of emotion that made tears well up in my eyes. I whispered, “I’ll never give up on you.”
Hearing that, he said again, softly but with all his heart, “I love youuuu.” 💖 My heart completely melted. I tried to explain that my parents were strict and that I couldn’t talk freely while I was home, so we agreed to wait to see each other in person.
Those three long days felt endless. For the first time, I hated being at home as a hosteller. Every moment away from him felt heavy, but at the same time, my heart was full—full of love, longing, and the excitement of knowing that our hearts had finally found each other.
A Hug That Sealed Our Love:-
After a long day at college, when everyone had left the classroom, the world seemed to shrink just to the two of us. The air was filled with nervous excitement, my heart pounding in my chest.
He gently reached out and touched my hand. Looking into my eyes, he said, with confidence and sincerity that made my heart skip a beat, “I love youu.”
I didn’t need to think—I hugged him tightly, pouring all my love into that embrace, and whispered back, “I love you too,” with every bit of my heart. It was the moment every girl dreams of—the first time a guy proposed to me in a lifetime, and it felt like the universe had paused just for us.
Then, in a shy, sweet gesture, he kissed me lightly before running off to catch his bus, leaving me smiling and blushing, my heart completely stolen by him. That day, that moment, will forever remain etched in my memory—the true beginning of our beautiful Adar love.
Two Years of Togetherness:-
From that magical day in the classroom until today, we have been in a beautiful relationship for two years. Over this time, we have shared everything—our fights, our studies, our dreams, and our growth. Even with love in our lives, our academics never suffered; in fact, we became toppers together, proving that love and responsibility can go hand in hand.
We went to a temple for the first time together, shared countless laughs, and gradually introduced each other to our parents—as friends at first, and then as something much deeper.
Two years have passed, and our love has only grown stronger. We are still in love with each other, learning, supporting, and cherishing every moment.
And that’s the end of my love story—for now, a story that began with a shy hello, a cyclone call, stolen glances, and a heartfelt proposal, blossoming into a love that continues to flourish even today.
